GCE Dharmapuri Students Take Drug-Free Pledge 2026

Students of Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri participated in the Drug-Free Pledge on 11 August 2026, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and promoting a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.

The pledge-taking programme was conducted as part of the broader Drug-Free Tamil Nadu awareness initiative, which encourages students and educational institutions to actively contribute towards preventing drug abuse and creating awareness among young people.

The enthusiastic participation of the students reflects the college community’s commitment to responsible citizenship, healthy living, and a drug-free campus.

GCE Dharmapuri Achieves Second Rank in NPTEL Among Government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu

Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri has achieved a significant milestone by securing Second Position, in the NPTEL Local Chapter performance among 11 Government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The institution has also been recognized by SWAYAM–NPTEL, IIT Madras as an Active Local Chapter under the "Aspirant" category (January–April 2026). This recognition is awarded to institutions demonstrating excellent participation and performance in NPTEL online certification courses.

This remarkable achievement reflects the dedicated efforts of Mr. S. Nirmalkumar, NPTEL SPOC (Single Point of Contact), whose continuous guidance and coordination have encouraged students to actively enroll in and successfully complete NPTEL certification courses.

The recognition was awarded based on the institution's outstanding performance, including:

  • 101–500 registered learners
  • More than 75% learner participation
  • More than 50% certification rate

GCE Dharmapuri Welcomes Dr.A.Rubymeena as Vice Principal

Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri proudly welcomed Dr. A. Rubymeena, M.E., Ph.D., Associate Professor, on her appointment as the Vice Principal of the institution by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai.

To commemorate this significant occasion, a Tree Plantation Drive was organized on the college campus. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A. Rubymeena, who planted saplings along with the Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers, and students.

The plantation drive symbolized growth, sustainability, and the institution's commitment to environmental conservation. The event also reflected the college's vision of nurturing both academic excellence and ecological responsibility.

GCE Dharmapuri Faculty Featured on Akashvani Dharmapuri FM Radio Programme

The faculty members of Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri successfully participated in a special live programme broadcast by Akashvani Dharmapuri FM on 7 July 2026.

During the programme, Dr. M. Vijayakumar, Mr. S. Nirmalkumar, and Dr. P. Premkumar provided valuable insights and addressed queries related to engineering admissions, academic programmes offered at Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri, campus facilities, and various scholarship opportunities available for students.

The interactive session served as an effective platform to create awareness among students, parents, and the public about the quality engineering education and student support initiatives offered by the institution.

EEE Department Conducted Five-Day Workshop on Industrial Power System Analysis Using ETAP

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a five-day workshop on “Industrial Power System Analysis Using Modern Simulation Tool ETAP” from 13–17 October 2025. The workshop was handled by Mr. Syed Riyash, Lead Engineer, and Mr. Gokul Raj P, Power System Engineer, Power Projects, Kodavai, Tiruppur.

A total of 58 students participated in the program and gained hands-on experience in load flow analysis, transformer simulation, reactive power compensation, VFD simulation, and industrial power system design using ETAP software. The workshop enhanced students' practical knowledge and simulation skills required for modern power system engineering applications.

Department of EEE organized Workshop on Future Trends in Electric Vehicle Technology

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a two-day workshop on “Future Trends in Electric Vehicle Technology” on 10–11 September 2025. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Prasanthkumar Palani, Chief Technical Consultant, Haritha Mobility Solutions, Tiruppur. A total of 58 students participated in the program.

The sessions covered EV components, battery management systems, charging technologies, safety standards, government initiatives, and career opportunities in the EV sector. The workshop provided valuable industry insights and practical exposure, enhancing students' knowledge and skills in Electric Vehicle Technology.

Industrial Visit to ESSVEE Wires India Pvt. Ltd., Salem Successfully Conducted

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Coimbatore Branch Office organized an industrial visit to ESSVEE Wires India Private Limited, Salem on 17th December 2025 for II and III Year Electrical and Electronics Engineering students of the Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri

A total of 30 students and 3 faculty members participated in the visit and gained valuable insights into the various standards and manufacturing processes of wires followed in the industry.

The visit provided practical exposure and enhanced the students’ understanding of real-world industrial practices.
