The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri, on 15 August 2026.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri, is pleased to announce the successful conduct of the “Association of Computer Science and Engineering – Special Event”.
The programme was honored by the presence of Dr. S. Ananth, Head of the Department, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Mahendra Engineering College (Autonomous), Namakkal, who delivered an insightful and motivating special address to the students.
The event was graced by Dr. V. Sumathy, Principal, Dr. A. Rubymeena, Vice-Principal, and Dr. A. M. Kalpana, Head of the Department, CSE, whose presence added great value to the occasion.
The programme included an inaugural session, a special address, prize distribution, a video presentation, and a warm welcome to the second-year students of the department. The sessions were designed to inspire and encourage students toward academic excellence and professional growth.
We also acknowledge the dedicated efforts of Mrs. R. Narmatha, Assistant Professor, CSE, who served as the Coordinator and played a key role in the successful organization of the event.
The programme concluded on a highly positive note, leaving students inspired and enriched with valuable knowledge and motivation for their future endeavors.
Students of Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri participated in the Drug-Free Pledge on 11 August 2026, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and promoting a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.
The pledge-taking programme was conducted as part of the broader Drug-Free Tamil Nadu awareness initiative, which encourages students and educational institutions to actively contribute towards preventing drug abuse and creating awareness among young people.
The enthusiastic participation of the students reflects the college community’s commitment to responsible citizenship, healthy living, and a drug-free campus.

Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri has achieved a significant milestone by securing Second Position, in the NPTEL Local Chapter performance among 11 Government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
